Week 3 - Four Miles

This week, thus far, was the most challenging for me (S.Cimone). We were back at Heritage Park in Irvine and ran 4 miles. I ran with Marie the entire way and keep a good pace and decent form. We completed 4 miles in about 48 minutes! In addition to the 4 mile run, TNT hosted a clothing and stretching workshop. We learning all of the proper clothing we should utilize as we embark on longer runs (Main Lesson I learned: Cotton is NOT your friend! lol). Melissa (one of our coaches) lead a stretching workshop that highlighted exercises for many trouble spots that runners have (hamstrings, hips, and knees). A day filled with information and triumph. GO TEAM!

Week 2 - Three Miles

In Week 2 we upped ourselves by 1 mile, completing a total of three miles. We had a shoe clinic that morning at Roadrunner Sports so instead of our normal run in Irvine, we ran through the streets of Costa Mesa. It was much warmer that day so we were all sweating! LOL. Time to bust out the sunblock! So not trying to burn out there!

Week 1 - Two Miles

Of course with our luck, we started our first training session off with a BANG! We had a two mile run which isn't too bad, but of course, it is POURING! Of all the days that it could rain, it had to be at 7:30am on Saturday 2/6 in Irvine. We thought that the rain would keep a lot of people at home but we were surprisingly mistaken. There were about 50 people that still came out to run that morning, including us, and we ran through the rain and mud without hestitation. Well, there was a little hestitation, but we still did it!

Our Team In Training Adventures!

We (Marie, S. Cimone, Ennis, and Pamela) have all made a commitment to ourselves, each other, and the thousands of individuals battling blood cancers all over the country by participating in the San Diego Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon this June. Each of us is raising money and awareness to help find a cure for these diseases that people are fighting everday. Feel free to follow our blog to see how we are doing as we engulf on this 16 week training season and cross the finish line for our first ever endurance event.
